Following the success of the offical WordPress Extend Plugins Directory the WordPress Extend Themes Directory has just been added.  As this takes off the WordPress Extend Themes Directory will give WordPress.org users easy access to numerous WordPress themes that are open source (GPL) and that are free of “link bait” (this has been a huge problem in the past).

Anyone who uses the WordPress Theme Viewer to find themes to use for WordPress may have been surprised recently when a few thousand themes started to disappear from the site. Apparently there has been a problem with “sponsored” and “spam” themes, thus they have been removed as version 3.0 of the WordPress Theme Viewer has been started.
